Our North Kitsap Medical Center office is where KPT got its start back in 1979. The physicians that started this medical center were ahead of their time in terms of being open minded and progressive in their quest to provide their patients with the best medical care they could. Their open mindedness and willingness to learn more about and utilize physical therapy contributed greatly to our success. Our practice here is based primarily on treating typical musculoskeletal injuries seen in family practice but we have also been able to expand our programs to post surgical rehabilitation because we are fortunate to have an excellent orthopedist in our complex.
North Kitsap Medical Center Programs:
General Orthopedics: All of our clinics have PT's with extensive specialized training and many years of experience in treating both spinal (neck/back) injuries as well and extremity (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and foot) injuries. The different physical therapists have many similarities but also utilize a variety of different approaches in how they treat problems based on the differences in their training and their experiences.
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation: All of our clinics have PT's with extensive experience in post-surgical orthopedic rehabilitation. Many of these problems utilize protocols that may vary from one doctor to another, but we understand this and make the appropriate adjustments as needed for different surgeons.
Vestibular/Balance Dysfunctions: Rob Sprague, PT specializes in treatment of these types of problems.
Gym Pass: Patients that are done with their supervised physical therapy programs can purchase a pass that allows them to continue coming in and using our gym to assist with their exercises. This allows us to still keep an eye on them and also answer any questions that may come up.
Senior Fitness: Seniors that want more structure and supervision than the more independent "gym pass" can participate in this program run by Linda Doehne, PTA, that includes twice weekly supervised group sessions for them to do their exercises and get more assistance to enable the exercises to be both safer and more effective.
