Welcome to Laurie Coykendall, PT

 

Laurie Coykendall, PT graduated from the University of Maryland in 1970 with her degree in Physical Therapy. Prior to starting with Kitsap Physical Therapy in January of 2008, Laurie moved around with her husband in the Navy and worked for a variety of physical therapy practices. She has served as a PTWA Membership Chair from 1992-1996 and maintains membership in several other professional associations. Laurie most recently was elected APTA Delegate for 2010 and 2011. She currently treats patients in a variety of areas, with her main specialization in hand therapy and geriatrics.





 
 

Anna Marx PT, DPT Celebrating 1 year

 

Anna Marx PT, DPT graduated from Regis University with her doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2008. She began her career with Kitsap Physical Therapy in January 2009, she is currently working at the Silverdale Clinic. Anna decided to become a PT because she has a passion for working with people. "My role, as a practitioner, is to facilitate the healing process within the people that I work with. The field of physical therapy allows the physical therapist to incorporate the principles of movement with direct application to the anatomy and physiology of the human body."

Anna's hometown is Eau Claire, Wisconsin and her hobbies involve snowboarding, cross-country skiing, hiking/biking, and traveling.

 


 


John Boulukos, PT, DPT, MTC Receives Manual Therapy Certification

 

John Boulukos, DPT graduated from the University of St. Augsutine, FL in 2008. John's experience has ranged from being the fitness director on the USS JOHN C. STENNIS aircraft carrier to volunteering as a pediatric physiotherapist at a children's center in Guatemala. His professional involvement includes APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor and memberhips in 4 prominent PT organizations. John most recently received his Manual Therapy Certification and specializes in headache therapy, motor vehicle accidents and the cervical spine.

Being service oriented, John has a passion for his job and it shows with his focus on promoting the quality of movement in his patients. He works at our Silverdale location and when he isn't working he enjoys international travel and volunteering, camping, hiking, and swimming.


 
 


Nathan Edwards, PT, DPT -We Welcome to KPT

 

Nathan Edwards, DPT graduated from Regis University in Colorado in 2009. Nathan's experience is inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and outpatient orthopedics. He is a member of APTA and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. He likes working on cervical and lumbar spine disorders and the treatment of mechanical low back pain. After rehabilitating from his own injuries from his running career in high school and college, he decided that he wanted to become a physical therapist. When Nathan is not working you can find him being active running, biking, hiking, kayaking, golfing, or motorcycling.

 


 


Bainbridge Welcomes Isaac Leitz, PT, DPT

 

Isaac graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2009 with his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He worked as a research assistant in the Biomechanics Lab at EWU. He completed his rotations at Sacred Heart, UW and Therapeutic Associates in Spokane. Isaac became interested in physical therapy because it offered a unique opportunity to combine his interest in biomechanics, an active lifestyle, and his strong desire to help individuals reach their goals and maximize their function.

When Isaac is not working, he enjoys hiking, basketball, and spending time outdoors.



 
 


 Karen Leitz, PT, DPT Added to Kingston Staff

 

Karen is the newest addition to t he Kingston KPT family. She is a recent graduate from Eastern Washington University, where she received her doctorate in physical therapy. She specialized in orthopedics, especially running related injuries mainly due to the fact that she was a collegiate runner herself and continues to run competitively. Karen says "As a physical therapist, I have the opportunity to use my knowledge, my hands, and my creativity to help people not only heal and acheive their goals, but also to invoke lifestyle changes that promote injury prevention and general healthy living." On Karen's off hours you will find her training for a marathon, triathlon, on the water sailing, skiing, kayaking, or just enjoying the great outdoors.

 


 
 


Welcome, Another DPT to KPT- Dena Larsen!

Dena Larsen, DPT graduated from the University of Washington with her doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2009. She is currently practicing at our Port Orchard clinic. Before becoming a Physical Therapist, she was a computer programmer working in San Diego, her hometown. She loved figuring out how to solve computer problems, now she loves making people feel better and stronger. Dena's philosophy on exercise is reflected in her favorite quote by Quentin Regestain "The patient should be made to understand that he or she must take charge of his own life. Don't take your body to the doctor as if he were a repair shop".

When she is on her own time, she enjoys playing with her son, trying new things, karaoke, and indoor soccer.
