Work Place and
Ergonomic Assessment and Modification
Ergonomic Analysis
An ergonomic analysis is a comprehensive evaluation of a job or a
group of jobs, and the associated risks of injury. The evaluation
includes direct observation and study of the interface between the
work tasks, the workers’ methods and the work tools. The final
analysis includes an assessment of the risks of performing the job,
and specific recommendations regarding how to mitigate those risks.
The evaluation defines the scope of workplace injury problems and
helps determine priorities for action.

Job Modification
This process
includes a systemic review of a claimant’s medical records and a
worksite visit to evaluate and identify options for modifying the
injured worker’s job tasks, the physical layout of the job and/or
the equipment used. Minimizing the employer expense is paramount
throughout this process. The goal is to expedite the return to work
of an injured employee, thereby controlling time loss expenses.
